Before School Care

Early arrival for students with working parents. Students are free to play with a variety of educational toys, books and puzzles.

Music Time

The morning program begins. Children gather on the floor area for music time.

Accompanied by the monthly music playlist, children sing seasonal and theme oriented songs. The teachers review the days of the week, month, weather, reinforce the letters of the month and preview the major activities of the day.

Group Time

All the students are gathered in a teacher directed activity. This activity may consist of theme oriented children’s literature, science experiments, alphabet puppet shows, math or reading readiness activities or guest speakers.

Playground

Our playground is equipped with climbing apparatus, slides, tricycles , wagons and a fully equipped playhouse all in a garden setting.

Snack Time

Our daily snacks consists of two or more of the following: fruit juice, milk, graham, rice or wheat crackers, soups, raisins, nutritious cereals, cheese, fresh fruit and vegetables.

LEARNING CENTERS

Learning Center time is the exploration of all the centers and equipment in the classrooms. Activities that are available to the students are the following:

Arts & Crafts Center

Children will experience a variety of teacher directed, theme oriented art projects using various art materials.

Easel & Self Help Art Center

A non-directed art center. Children may help themselves to crayons, felt tip pens, scissors, paste, paper, stencils, stamps and play dough. This center is to encourage creativity and independence.

Book Center

This area of the classroom allows the children to freely enjoy a wonderful selection of books encouraging the desire to read.

Puzzle Center

A variety of puzzles with varied levels of difficulty are offered.

Discovery Center

Activities, books, puppets, games, displays and “hands on” experiences are available to reinforce our monthly themes.

Science Center

Children can observe our classroom pets: Egor the Tarantula, Linguini the Snake, Silvester the Turtle, Prince the Albino Bull Frog, Milton & Mitilda the Newts and Holland the Lop Rabbit.

Manipulatives & Educational Toys

Tables and floors are filled with a variety of educational and stimulating toys to develop a child’s motor skills, encourage creativity and imagination.

Academic Center

Children complete their daily individualized educational activity in the A.I.M.S. program, Boehm Basic Concepts, The Living Institute Of Social Skills Program ,computers or the Macmillan Big Book Program. (See Curriculum for more details)

Story Time

Our story time books are selections from the local library, books with CD’s, or books brought in by students.

Lunch Time

Children who are enrolled in a full day program provide their own lunch.

Story Time

Extended Day Care

A variety of table top activities and outside playtime are available for the full day student. Rest time is also available. Mats and towels are provided.

Closing Time

All children must be picked up by 5:30pm or otherwise be fined.
